Whatsapp the messaging platform owned by Meta Platforms (META.O) announced on Thursday that it is globally rolling out Communities, a tool that allows users to organise different chat groups into greater structures, as well as other capabilities like larger group video calls and in-chat polls.

Now admins can bring related groups together in one place to keep conversations organized and send alerts or annoucements to a community of thousands. This feature will be beneficial for big workplaces and schools.
The new feature will allow chat groups to have up to 1,024 members, perviously Whatsapp had limit of 256 users only.
Other new features include in-chat polls, a frequent feature on social media platforms like Meta’s Facebook and Twitter, as well as 32-person video calling.
Like Whatsapp alternatives, including Telegram and Discord, allow thousands of members in group chats.
